What to expect
DAY 1
The tour starts in Cappadocia, one of Turkey’s most spectacular and most visited areas; from the town of Goreme, you will pick up your rental car, GPS, tripbook, telephone, etc. You’ll then set off on your journey, first stopping at the underground city of Kaymakli and continuing to Soganli, home to multiple rock carved churches. Then, a 1.5 hour drive will take you to the beautiful Taurus Mountains where you will be staying for the night. Get there just before sunset to see the magnificent peaks turn crimson.

DAY 2
Get ready for an active day. After a nice leisurely breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Sokulupinar, a popular camp area and the starting point of your hike. Today’s walk will make you feel like the world’s luckiest shepherd; you’ll go from pasture to pasture on well-defined paths with some of the most stunning mountain views imaginable. Once you arrive at your destination, another transfer will take you back for a well-deserved dinner and some relaxation.

DAY 3
Day 3 of the tour will keep you busy with a full day of sightseeing. First you’ll head to Gumusler Monastery to see the wonderful frescoes and Byzantine Period architecture. Drive for another 150 km before arriving at Lake Meke; set some time aside for a 5km walk around the otherworldly landscape of the lake. Next stop is Catalhoyuk, a historically important site dating back 9000 years. The day ends in mystical Konya where you’ll be staying for the night.

DAY 4
Start the day with a visit to the Mevlana Museum. Leaving Konya, your first stop is Beysehir; this lakeside town is home to one of the most beautiful and interestingly crafted mosques in Turkey. Heading towards Yalvac, you’ll stop by Eflatun Pinari, a monumental fountain from the Hittite Period. Next you’ll visit the ancient Psidian city of Antioch before arriving at picturesque Lake Egirdir where you’ll spend the night.

DAY 5
This morning, after a nice swim and some relaxing by the lake, you’ll drive to Adada, an ancient city. Take lots of time to explore the ruins before starting your 4 km walk. This hike follows one of the most impressive and best preserved stone-paved Roman roads in Turkey. Starting from the ruins and ending in a nearby village, today’s walk is full of history and dramatic canyon views. Tonight you will have a home-cooked dinner and stay in a village house, the accommodation is very basic, but a good opportunity to experience what life is like in Turkish villages.

DAY 6
Today’s program will have you visiting another one of the region’s picturesque lakes. A quick drive takes you to Lake Kovada, also a national park, where you can check out the tiny museum’s displays before strapping on your hiking boots yet again. Today’s walk on takes you on an easy-to-follow path up to a hilltop overlooking the lake. Be ready to take lots of pictures! After exploring Lake Kovada, you’ll drive to Sagalassos, another impressive ancient city; explore the ruins before spending the night.

Driving Distance: 103 km
DAY 7
After a nice big breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head to the Termessos National Park and ancient settlement. A 2.5 km walk on one of the park trails will take you through the ruins and their beautiful natural setting. After that you’ll drive to Antalya. Tonight you’ll be staying at a hotel located within the old castle walls. Take a sunset walk or just relax for the evening.

Driving Distance: 145 km
DAY 8
Depending on your departure flight, you may visit some of the nearby sites like Old Town of Antalya, Antalya Archaeology Museum, Perge ancient city or just relax at the Konyaaltı Beach. You’re tour ends as you drive to the Antalya Airport and return the car.
